At The Redholme B&B we take our green responsibilities very seriously.
All waste is either composted or recycled. This includes our kitchen and guest bedrooms.
We will only wash those towels that require washing and bed linen is not changed daily unless a spillage has occurred.
Toilet paper is from sustainable sources.
A good deal of our food is sourced locally and tea and coffee are ethically produced.
Our heating thermostat in the winter months is set no higher than 22 degrees.
Our boilers are new and regularly serviced and therefore perform efficiently.
Our garden is mostly only watered with harvested rain water.
Our light bulbs are mostly energy efficient and we regularly track our energy and water usage.
This is how we achieve our Bronze TripAdvisor GreenLeader Award. Due to being built in 1886 we cannot achieve a higher award.
We are also in love with Orangutangs!!
We now make a real effort and make sure that any product being used by The Redholme contains NO PALM OIL and if it does (crikey so much does) then it is from a sustainable certified source.
So you can wash your body and hair without worrying about Orangutangs. We only offer moisturising hand soap as a liquid which meets this criteria, the little round soaps are gone!
The only Palm around here is the tree in the garden!
